Last week, our team had the privilege of spending a meaningful day volunteering at Kelmarna Community Farm in Ponsonby—an inspiring urban oasis nestled in the heart of Auckland. Kelmarna is more than just a farm; it’s a vibrant community hub dedicated to regenerative agriculture, sustainability, and community wellbeing.
We got stuck into some good old-fashioned physical work: wheelbarrowing chicken feed, pulling weeds, and lending a hand wherever it was needed. It was a great opportunity to step away from our usual routines and contribute to the day-to-day running of a place that’s doing important work for the local community.
Kelmarna plays a vital role in promoting food resilience, mental health, and environmental education. It’s a place where people go to learn, grow, and connect—whether through growing organic produce, caring for animals, or simply spending time in nature.
Our time at the farm left us with a renewed appreciation for the power of community-led initiatives. It reminded us how important it is to nurture both people and the planet, and how practical, hands-on support can make a real difference.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to support Kelmarna’s mission and encourage others to explore, volunteer, or donate to this incredible organisation. Thanks to the Kelmarna team for having us—we’re proud to support what you do
